Want to help out behind-the-scenes? We're looking for a few (okay, many!) enthusiastic volunteers to be Monitors for the 'thon. You'll get to browse your sites, encouraging the bloggers during the 'thon and letting us know what cool or interesting things are happening so we can highlight them here on the site.

New schwag!

Yes, the Blogathon Store is finally open, with everything redesigned for 2006. I use a 2002 mousepad at work, and it's getting very grungy, so I think I'll grab a new one this year. And I definitely want a throw pillow, to crash in an official manner when it's all over.

Button, button...

We've got the buttons! We've uploaded a ton of classic buttons, and new ones are already coming in. Grab 'em and post 'em on your site! If you'd like to make a button for others to use, here's the form. Send them in and Heather, our Button Master, will get them on the page.

There is now a page for awards. This year, I'd like to have things go a bit more quickly, and make them more exciting, by asking the Monitors to do all the nominations during the event. That way we can turn around a ballot for all the bloggers in just a day or so, while everyone is still aglow from the event.

I also have plans to keep everyone involved with plenty of drawings and contests during the event. I can't wait!
